2015 Porsche 918 Spyder #736
Information

It’s not often we can talk about cars that define an era, cars that are so significant they have made a lasting impact on the direction of the automotive landscape and carved a space for their own segment.

In 2013 a new elite club was formed. A club for supercars that went beyond the realms of what we “conventionally” knew them to be. This club, known as "Hypercars", had three founding members: the Porsche 918 Spyder, the Ferrari Laferrari and the Mclaren P1. Three cars that would go on to become so iconic that even today, ten years later, they are known as “The Holy Trinity”.

Three very different cars from three very different manufacturers, all with one thing in common - a hybrid electric powertrain. Today we are going to focus on one in particular, the Porsche 918 Spyder.

First unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2013, the 918 features a naturally aspirated 4.6 Litre V8 developing 599BHP as well as two electric motors delivering an additional 282BHP for a combined output north of 875BHP which, by todays standards, is outrageous but a decade ago was groundbreaking.

Not only did this car perform like something from the future, it also looked like something from the future. With Acid Green details, exhausts that exit the engine bay directly behind the roll hoops, a single panel touch screen infotainment system...  Sure, there are some subtle nods in design language to the Carrera GT but this is very much a stand alone model with its own identity that has not been mimicked since and still looks almost concept-like today.

In September 2013 a 918 fitted with the optional 'Weissach Package' set a Nürburgring lap time of 6:57 on the 20.6 km (12.8 mi) road course, reducing the previous record by 14 seconds,  making it the first street-legal production car to break the 7-minute barrier, a feat that few road cars have accomplished in the ten years since.

Hypercars such as this are produced in very small numbers to ensure exclusivity. In this instance just 918 cars were made for the world, of which circa 65 for the UK.

Top Gear - “Porsche's hybrid masterpiece, the most complete car in the Holy Trinity”

Forza Clienti are incredibly proud to offer this immaculately presented 918 Spyder finished in GT Silver with Black interior and Acid Green accents.

This example is a genuine C16 UK supplied car with just 3,114 miles from new. First registered in April 2015, the original custodian enjoyed ownership right through to October 2022 when sold to the existing owner as part of an extensive private collection.

Supplied with a complete service history all carried out at Porsche Cars Great Britain’s “Central Operations” Workshop, last service carried out in September 2022, the maintenance is up to date and the car is supplied with a clean bill of health. This example also benefits from the balance of Porsche warranty until March 2024.

This special car is complete with all original accessories including book pack, order book and model, charging accessories and cover.

As one of what is believed to be just 65 UK cars, this really is a rare opportunity to own a significant car that is almost certainly a very worthwhile future investment.
